What if the most important thing you obtained as an entrepreneur was job security?
That doesn't sound like the goal when someone decides to start a business. But here is the thing that no one tells you, the biggest reason why you should start a business is that it makes you more economically resilient. Every skill you develop running a business is transferrable. You become a better employee having taken the leap to run a business because you learn how a business actually works. You learn the constraints, trade-offs, the real challenges that owners face as they push to grow.
Maybe we have been asking the wrong question. It might not be "Should I quit my job to start a business?" instead, it might be "Should I start a business to be a better employee?"
